The Ocean Institute would like to thank all of our generous supporters for their contribution to the 8th Annual Jazz in January event held on January 29th and 30th. Thank you! Jonathan Butler's and Rick Braun's performances were amazing and we know it will be hard to top this event next year! Both Friday and Saturday night were spectacular and we raised more than $120,000 to benefit the Ocean Institute's educational programs. These important funds will help increase awareness and understanding of the ocean environment to over 100,000 students annually through our award-winning curriculum. The Ocean Institute's unique "immersion" style educational experiences turn students into research scientists, tall ship sailors, expedition leaders and explorers. Community support is crucial to providing these students with an unforgettable learning experience, while at the same time providing the Ocean Institute with continued success in ocean science education.
